Police investigating second homicide this week in Lancaster

Lancaster police are urging the community to take ownership of their streets after two murders in two days.

Thursday morning, police found 47-year-old Cynthia Barnes shot to death inside her home on East Dunlap Street. Neighbors say they’re worried about an increase in violent crime this year.

That’s Barnes’ friend Philathia Wright. 37-year-old Danny Clyburn, Jr. was shot and killed on Tuesday.

His longtime friend Derrick Mcilwain is charged in that murder.
