The director of the local non-profit animal shelter in Rock Hill says she plans to relocate her facility because of concerns over the well-being of the cats and the shelter’s security.

Charlene Rodriguez opened the Saint Francis Animal Rescue Center several years ago after noticing a lot of stray cats in her apartment complex.  She says when people moved, they would leave their animals behind.  Rodriguez says her mother left food out for one cat… but more and more of them kept coming to eat it.

She says she plans to leave the one-story brick house shelter on East Main Street by mid-March.
