Rock Hill police have arrested two dog owners on Chestnut Street after an anonymous tip that a tan and white pit bull was being mistreated.

Officers arrived at the home Monday afternoon to find the dog’s ribs prominently visible, and they could feel the dog’s bones from the skin.

A check of the area revealed the dog was without food, but did have extremely dirty water from a milk jug cut in half. York County animal control responded to the scene and deemed the area unfit for a pet.

The dog’s owners were contacted and a 33-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were arrested for cruelty to animals.
