A Fort Mill insurance agent has announced she’s seeking a newly-created South Carolina House district as a Republican.

Raye Felder says politics has always been something she’s been involved in and an area where she’s had a desire to make a difference.

Felder says she did NOT want to run against G-O-P state representatives Deborah Long or Ralph Norman. She says she’s still waiting on a final map of the district she’s running in.

Felder says she wants more fiscal responsibility in state government. She also wants to determine whether it’s feasible to dredge the Port of Charleston and make it useful.

Felder says she wants to maintain Fort Mill’s excellence in education. In addition, she wants more economic development attention for the tri-county area.

The only other announced candidate for House District 26 is Fort Mill carpenter Jeremy Walters… who’s also running as a Republican.
