The Rock Hill Police Department released a composite sketch Saturday of the man who allegedly sexually assaulted a female Winthrop University student.

Students at Winthrop University were put on alert after a student said she was kidnapped as she walked to her off-campus apartment December 14th.

The woman said she parked her car and was walking through a parking lot to the University Place Apartments off Rose Street when a man with a knife approached her and forced her back to her car.

The student told police the man made her drive to an apartment complex near Main Street and Constitution Boulevard, where he sexually assaulted her.  Since the attack happened off-campus, Rock Hill police have taken the lead in the investigation.

The attacker is described as a black man in his mid 20s with a goatee.

He was wearing a black nylon beanie and a black hooded sweatshirt.  Anyone with information is asked to call Rock Hill police at 329-7211.
