COLUMBIA, S.C. — This Saturday night, the South Pointe Stallions head down Interstate 85 to Clemson’s Death Valley to face Bluffton for the State title.

At a press conference Monday, South Pointe Head Coach Strait Heron said he’s had a remarkable team this year — even without last year’s stars Jadaveon Clowney and Gerald Dixon.

But at 13 and 1, they’ve done quite well this year, as just last week the Stallions beat the York Cougars, now coached by Bobby Carroll, who left South Pointe for York last year.

Bluffton Head Coach Ken Cribb, whose team is 14 and 0 on the season in his first year, says he’s looking forward to his team’s first state championship.
