Man arrested in armed robbery, kidnapping on East Main Street
ROCK HILL — Police say a man has been arrested after holding a clerk at gunpoint and briefly kidnapping her at a convenience store Saturday night.

43-year-old Jimmie Lee Banks of Rock Hill is charged with armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. Banks was booked into the Moss Justice Center on 525-thousand-dollars bond.
Police say the clerk at Bob’s Food Mart on East Main Street told officers that a man holding a semi-automatic pistol walked in about nine P-M Saturday and demanded money.
He took about 150-dollars from the register, put it in a plastic bag and told the woman to leave the store with him. He pointed a pistol at her back to guide her out.
After they walked toward the railroad tracks behind the store, the clerk told the suspect that if someone walked into the store and noticed nobody was there, they’d call the police.
The man let her go and fled. Banks was found later on High Street.
