Wells Fargo senior economist Mark Vitner told more than 100 people at Winthrop University in Rock Hill this week that there’s only a one-in-three chance the nation will fall into another recession.  However, Vitner forecasts only two-percent growth between now and 2013. He says it’s odd to him that South Carolina’s unemployment rate is higher than most other states.

Vitner says that York County’s jobless rate is exceptionally high… but that labor market conditions here are improving.

And with all that said, Vitner says SOuth Carolina has been tremendously successful in attracting new industry.

Vitner says despite it’s jobless rate, York County is still doing better than other areas and regions.  He says labor market conditions here are improving.
