Gun buyers save money this weekend
People who plan on shopping for a gun this holiday weekend will save a few bucks. This weekend is “Second Amendment Weekend.” For gun buyers, that means no sales tax on handguns, rifles and shotguns. In this third annual holiday sales tax weekend, that lasts from Friday through midnight on Sunday, ammunition, black powder, holsters and archery supplies are taxed, but guns are not. The Associated Press reports the more antique, collectible guns will also still be taxed.
This weekend is different from the tax-free weekend held in August on back-to-school items.
