Lawmakers are heading back to Washington today and many of them are talking about the need for a compromise on taxes. Senator Jim DeMint said he hopes President Obama will concede on extending former President Bush’s tax cuts.

If that’s all we could get out of the president, and he is the president, we’ll work with him on that. But, I hope he doesn’t come back with the idea that we are going to raise taxes on 750,000 small businesses, which he has been talking about. I think if he can work on our side of the ledger, I think we might can work together.

DeMint said on WCIV in Charleston, small businesses will not see a tax increase for a few years.
