Man killed in collision between four-wheeler and vehicle
A 27-year-old Sumter man, who was killed in a collision between a vehicle and four-wheeler late Tuesday, has been identified.
Philip Barkley, was killed when he was coming out of a private driveway and lost control of the four-wheeler he was driving and overturned on the highway. Melanie Beck was a passenger with Barkley and was thrown from the four-wheeler when it overturned. Barkley, however was struck by a pickup truck being driven by Samuel Smalley.
Smalley was uninjured and Beck was transported to the hospital where she was treated and released for minor injuries.
