Mother faces Orangeburg judge for murdering her sons
The mother of the two toddlers, Shaquan Duley, is expected to go before an Orangeburg County magistrate judge this afternoon around 2 o’clock. Duley is facing two murder charges for suffocating her two-year-old and one-year-old sons before strapping them in a car, and dumping the car into the North Edisto River.
Her attorney, Carl Grant, says Duley deserves the presumption of innocence, as he says the public does not know the “whole” story, despite what has been said by authorities. Orangeburg Sheriff Larry Williams said Duley killed her two boys because she was complaining about financial struggles and unemployment.
The funeral for Ja’van Duley and Devean Duley are scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Baptist Church in Orangeburg.
