The Department of Natural Resources says three men have been charged in connection with two separate deadly boating accidents on Lake Murray that happened in May. Those accidents took the lives of four people.

Authorities say Steven Kranendonk was driving the boat that killed two women.  He is charged with two counts of felony BUI. Steven Miller, who was driving the johnboat in which two men were killed after being struck by another watercraft, is charged with two counts of felony BUI. David Porth is charged with boating while intoxicated. Porth was driving the boat that struck the johnboat.

According to officials, penalties for felony BUI include a fine of up to $25,000 and up to 25 years in prison.  Penalties for BUI include a fine of up to $475, up to 30 days in jail and the loss of boating privileges until safety training is completed.
