(York County, SC)  An ordinance to provide potential preference to local vendors in the bidding process for projects is not expected to happen in  York County.  While the city of Rock Hill is discussing the idea which would allow the council to award projects to local companies if it’s within three percent of the lowest bid, York County leaders shot down such an idea last night.  County Manager Jim Baker says such an ordinance can hurt York County companies outside the county.   All seven council members were opposed to such an ordinance.
