Emergency warning sirens across the Carolinas will undergo additional testing Wednesday.

Duke Energy, in cooperation with emergency management officials in York, Gaston and Mecklenburg counties, will test a software upgrade on the sirens between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., all within a ten-mile radius of the Catawba Nuclear Station.

The tests, which may occur more than once, will last about a minute.
