$63k in pot seized at three Rock Hill hotels
A Charlotte man faces three counts of trafficking marijuana after York County drug agents found him taking attempting to take possession of nearly 40 pounds of marijuana worth more than $63,000.
Officers with the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement unit found 30-year-old Charles Wayne intercepting three separate packages of marijuana at the Wingate Inn, the Hilton Garden in and the Holiday Inn all of Dave Lyle Blvd in Rock Hill.
Police say a fourth package addressed to a fourth hotel in Rock Hill was intercepted by authorities in Arizona.
DEU Commander Marvin Brown says investigators found additional packages were sent to other hotels in the Gastonia, N.C and Concord, N.C.
Brown says authorities in Arizona also have a suspect in custody charged with shipping the packages.
