Grass fire spreads to apartment; displaces 26

ROCK HILL, SC — A simple grass fire ignited a massive blaze through the Deerfield Run Apartments Thursday afternoon near India Hook Road. Eight apartments were reportedly damaged in the blaze, displacing more than two dozen adults and children.

No injuries were reported in the incident, but heavy fire and smoke damage was reported, with a total of $500,000 in estimated damages. The Rock Hill Fire Department used over 20 fire fighters to contain the fire.
