City of Rock Hill Announces Property Sale at Palmetto Research Park to Novant Health
Rock Hill, South Carolina – Rock Hill City Council approved a purchase and sale agreement with Novant Health for development of a medical campus on approximately 25 acres at Palmetto Research Park. The site, owned by the City of Rock Hill, is located at Palmetto Parkway and Mt. Gallant Road. The investment is estimated at over $300 million, with 255 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) positions.

Mayor John Gettys said, “Novant Health has a longstanding history in our area, known for an exceptional standard of care. We’re so pleased they’re choosing to grow their regional footprint at this premier site in Rock Hill. We’ve targeted life sciences at Palmetto Research Park given the stability, global demand, and high-paying jobs the industry brings. Novant Health’s medical campus aligns well with that vision as we continue to pursue additional recruitment opportunities.”

Approval of the purchase and sale agreement kicks off a due diligence period for Novant Health to fully investigate the site prior to closing.

“This land purchase reflects our continued commitment to expanding access to care in Rock Hill and the surrounding communities,” said Chris Bowe, President, Novant Health Charlotte Region. “Novant Health has proudly served Rock Hill and the surrounding communities for many years through our specialty institutes, physician clinics, and more recently through our investment in Miracle Park. We’re incredibly grateful for the relationships we’ve built in this community and look forward to sharing more about our planned medical campus and long-term commitment to bringing remarkable health care closer to home.”

Palmetto Research Park, a 209-acre site adjacent to I-77 and served by exit 81, is zoned Industry General (IG) and includes Norfolk Southern rail access
