York woman sentenced to nine months in prison after pouring substance in co-worker’s drink
A woman has been sentenced to nine months in prison after admitting to pouring degreaser into a co-worker’s drink. Tina Michelle Burch, 58 of York poured cleaner into a woman’s iced tea. She pled guilty Tuesday in York County Criminal Court. The incident happened in June of 2023 at a business on Galleria Boulevard. Surveillance shows Burch putting the product in a woman’s bottle. The victim was entered into medical treatment after vomitting and having her face being numbed. The charge was malicious tampering with human food or drug products. After a plea deal, Judge Dan Hall sentenced the woman to a maximum of 10 years but suspended the sentence to nine months active time in the Department of Corrections with three years of probation along with $1500 restitution. The lawyer for Burch, said it was a lapse and judgement claiming “She’s not a bad person, just had a bad day.”
