Lancaster man charged with attempted murder after trying to steal alcohol in Indian Land
A Lancaster man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to steal alcohol. He then pulled out a firearm as employees tried to keep him from getting away. The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office say Datarius Marques Vaughn-McHam 27 of Charlotte attempted to steal bottles of tequila from Stateline Elite in Indian Land on the Charlotte Highway. It happened around 3pm Saturday.
There were 7 total people inside when the suspect pulled out a 9 MM pistol. He struggled with the gun amongst those trying to stop him when two shots were fired. A customer helped restrain the suspect until deputies arrived. The man has been wanted by several North Carolina law enforcement agencies. Bond was denied on Sunday.
