CLT sees major uptick in Holiday travel period and expects to see more through Labor Day

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is experiencing its busiest summer travel period on record at the midway point of the season. From Memorial Day through the Fourth of July, CLT surpassed last year’s numbers by 14%. The Fourth of July holiday witnessed approximately 925,000 arriving and departing passengers from July 2-7, a 7% increase over last year. Of those 925,000…… over 153,000 were local passengers departing Charlotte, a 6% uptick from 2023. Passenger activity is forecasted to remain high through Labor Day, with a continued 13% increase in passengers over last year.
