Last night York County Council approved the 2nd of 3 readings on a “fee in lieu of tax agreement” that will bring almost a half-billion dollars of investment and more than 400 jobs to our county. Code-named “Project Tullamore,” the agreement with an unnamed company and property owner. would allow for the company to pay a fee rather than taxes for a set period. The county has to approve three readings to finalize the agreement. The first vote came Jan. 3. It was by title only, meaning details will be given after the agreement is passed on 3rd reading which could come early in February.. The unnamed company intends to invest more than $443 million and create 405 new full-time jobs as part of the agreement.
