White Point and the City of Rock Hill will celebrate the groundbreaking of a new mixed-use development at the former Herald site, 132 W. Main Street, Rock Hill, SC, on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11 AM. The new development envisions residential, restaurant and retail components, and includes an amphitheater, open space and playground. The site’s parking deck will serve as an anchor to the proposed pedestrian bridge crossing Dave Lyle Blvd. With an estimated investment of $60 million, this new development is another key milestone in the implementation of the Knowledge Park Action Plan, working toward a revitalized, vibrant corridor from Winthrop University to downtown. Demolition of the former Herald buildings is scheduled to begin by the end of the year.
