School districts in our area are seeing dramatic drops in new COVID-19 cases and quarantines. Between York, Lancaster and Chester county school districts, they show just over 760 positive cases and 6,000 quarantines, or isolations. The prior week showed over 1300 cases and nearly 10,000 quarantines. Some of the larger districts had the bigger declines. Fort mill dropped by 45% with fewer than 200 positives. The Rock Hill schools saw a big drop at 37% with 18 schools having fewer than 10 student positives. The York School district dropped about 32% in cases. Lancaster dropped close to 50% in cases and quarantines as well. The biggest drop in positives however, came in Chester County going form 118 positives to just 9. The only area district that stayed steady with no big drop was Clover however the numbers did show a slight decrease from two weeks ago to last week.
