For the 4th consecutive day, SCDHEC is reporting above 350 new cases of COVID-19, statewide. This continues a slow growth of positive cases that had dropped to below 50 per day as recently as 3 weeks ago. The new “Delta” strain and unvaccinated individuals, according to DHEC, are largely the reason for the increase. Saturday’s results, which were reported today, saw 7.5% of all tests administered come back positive. This, too, is an increase as the percent positive average had been below 3%.
