Lancaster Man Hospitalized After Head on Collision

A Lancaster County man was flown to a Charlotte hospital after a head-on collision between his SUV and a logging truck Tuesday afternoon, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Lance Cpl. Gary Miller said the injured man, a 46-year-old from Heath Springs, was driving a 1991 Chevrolet Blazer SUV. The other man, a 64-year-old from Lancaster, was driving a 2011 Freightliner Truck and was not injured.

The injured man was driving eastbound on S.C. 903 and the truck driver was headed west just before 12:30 p.m. about five miles east of Lancaster.

Miller says the truck driver left his lane, and struck the injured man’s car head on. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
