Manning Kimmel
Manning’s chief responsibility centers on his Managing Partner position with Our Three Sons Broadcasting LLC, the parent company of News - Talk AM 1340 WRHI and Interstate 107 (WRHM-WVSZ). When he’s not guiding the day-to-day operations of the business, Manning hosts "Straight Talk", a 30-minute public affairs and issues program heard every weekday from 12:30 - 1:00 PM.
Kimmel’s interest in national and local issues first led him to the news side of the business where he began his 30-year broadcasting career. He is a regular contributor to the award-winning Newstalk 1340 WRHI newsroom. A native of Wilmington, Delaware, Manning’s Southern heritage (his grandfather was from Kentucky) led him to Rock Hill in 1984. A graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, Manning is also a licensed pilot with a love of technology and all things electronic in nature. And when he’s not on--or in--the air, you might find him riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle with Sheilah, his wife of 30+ years. The couple also has two grown sons, Manning and Singleton.
Manning is a firm advocate of a refreshing rarity in American broadcasting--locally owned radio. "Everything we do (at WRHI/WRHM/WVSZ) is centered on our community," says Kimmel. "We have an obligation to be its voice, to discuss the issues which affect us, and to ensure we keep our sense of community and the qualities which make this such an exceptional place to live. This is where we live, work, play and pray. Rock Hill and York County is just a great place to live."
Kimmel backs up his belief by being involved in the community. He is currently the Chairman of Christians to Feed the Hungry a non-profit organization which helps provide food and medical care to the indigent in our community.

Born in 1979, Rocky The Wonder Dog is the senior mascot of the area. Still as playful as when he was pup, Rocky is the highly visible and easily recognizable symbol of WRHI in our community.
Completely housebroken, Rocky has been on the scene of every major Rock Hill event for over two decades, including many area parades and festivals like the Annual Come-See-Me, the annual Easter Egg Classic and literally hundreds of live broadcasts.
Rocky is also heavily involved with programs for young people, such as Prom Pledge, DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and Communities in Schools.
Rocky is still holding out for a lucrative dog food endorsement.
Want to make a request for Rocky to appear at your community event? Download or print out the Rocky Request Form and mail it to the address listed. We will make every effort to schedule Rocky per your request.
Jerry Peterson
Submitted by wrhiadmin on Mon, 04/28/2008 - 18:20.Jerry Peterson’s booming voice has echoed weather information across major radio and television markets all over the country since 1956. He is an American Meteorological Society certified meteorologist and provides 24-hour weather information for WRHI and its sister station, WRHM FM 107. Peterson plays a crucial part on The Morning Show, honored in 2005 by the South Carolina Broadcaster's Association as the "Radio Program of the Year."
Jerry is quite a handyman. He completely renovated a historic downtown home here in Rock Hill with his wife, Melba and son, Scott, which they now operate as the city’s leading bed and breakfast. He originally became interested in broadcasting through Junior Achievement in junior high school and throughout his career has probably talked to over a million elementary school students about weather and broadcasting.
Jerry is a firm believer that radio has three enduring missions: Educate, entertain and inform. Radio is something that Jerry can’t seem to get enough of in spite of his semi-retirement several years ago.
"It’s in your blood. It’s something that lives with you forever," said Jerry. "Every time you turn on a radio, it draws you back in."
