Lee Stuart, WRHI's News Director,
is responsible for gathering
and writing all local news, including coverage of local government in York
County. Lee also anchors the Evening Report on WRHI and the Evening
News on our sister station Interstate 107.
A broadcast veteran of
over 20 years in radio and television news, Lee has been an anchor, senior
reporter, news director and producer. He has worked at News/Music
radio/television stations in Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Rhode Island
and Massachusetts.
Born in Houston, TX, Lee
spent many of his formative years in Oklahoma. He began his studies in
broadcast journalism in 1983, shortly after serving in the U.S. Navy, and
witnessing the American Embassy bombing in Beirut. His inspiration for
working in News came from the Legendary Paul Harvey, who was a family friend
and co-worker to Lee’s Grandfather.
He and his wife Teresa
come to South Carolina after losing their home in Port Arthur, TX, along
with many others to Hurricane Rita on September 24, 2005. Teresa works as an
OB Nurse for CMC Charlotte/Ballantyne. Between them they share four children ranging from
age 10 to 27 and have 7 grandchildren!
