Jay Taylor grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina.  After graduating from Ashbrook High School in 1988, Jay became a Manager for United Artist Theaters in Brunswick, Georgia.  Growing homesick, he moved back to Gastonia in 1989 and attended Gaston College.  This is where he met his wife of 13 years, Amy.  After working various jobs involving everything from cleaning bathrooms to driving forklifts and working part-time in Charlotte radio, Jay landed a full-time job at a group of radio stations in, of all places, Brunswick, Georgia.

Jay has been in radio throughout Georgia including Macon, Statesboro, Savannah and Brunswick... and has done everything from radio station programming to running an audio production department.  While in Macon, he won the "Max" award from the Central Georgia Advertising Federation for best sound production.  Jay and his wife have 5 children, Griffin, Kassidy, Sophie, Mark and Sean.  The first four were born in various parts of Georgia and he and his wife had their fifth on October 3rd at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.  Jay and his wife are pleased to add considerably to the population of York County.
