Sheila Caldwell
Sheila Caldwell is the “bright and cheerful” female voice heard every morning on WRHI’s Morning Show. She first acquired experience in broadcasting almost 30 years ago when a Program Director overheard her speaking at a Jaycee's event and encouraged her to pursue a Radio career.
If you count the years Sheila sang as a child with her mother on a local Radio broadcast, you could easily add another decade to her years "in the business." From the age of 6, Sheila dreamed of working in broadcasting. Her parents gave her a reel-to-reel machine at age 10 and she "produced" Radio programs. By age 17, she was a voice-over artist and news reporter after school. During this time, she received an AP News Award for a Community Service broadcast, the youngest to receive this recognition to date in Alabama.
Over the last three decades, Sheila continued to work in various media fields including Radio, Television and Internet. She is an award-winning writer and producer having gleaned six Addy (advertising awards) and an Angel Award for a short-form Television documentary that was syndicated in several countries. She has continued work as a writer and voice-over artist in the Charlotte metro area.
Sheila is employed full-time as the Client Support Manager at Williams & Fudge in Rock Hill. She is married to Bill Caldwell and together they have five children, six grandchildren (with one more due in September) and two dogs. She loves Rock Hill and is involved in several community events including Come-See-Me and ChristmasVille and is the 2009 recipient of the Beyond the Call of Glenn Award.
