Jay Taylor is host of The Morning Show on WRHI, heard weekday mornings from 5:30-10 a.m. and also heads-up the production department for Our Three Sons. A native of Gastonia, Jay is an avid lover of music which first sparked his interest in Radio. "I can remember listening to those Charlotte Radio stations thinking... "How cool would that job be!?"
A 20-year veteran in broadcasting, Jay began his venture in Radio by attending Gaston College. While working as station manager at his college Radio station and various part-time positions with WRFX and WTDR in Charlotte... Jay found his love for audio production and began applying himself to learn the art of making creative Radio ad and promotional campaigns.
Jay continued to hone his on-air skills while living in Georgia for more than a decade, working in various cities from Macon to Statesboro as a DJ, News Director, Program Director, Production Manager and Operations Manager. During that time, he received awards and recognition for his on-air work and commercial production... including the MAX Award for Marketing and Advertising Excellence.
Feeling the call of home, Jay and his family wanted to be closer to friends and relatives. After visiting the Rock Hill / York County area... they knew they WERE home.
Jay joined his talents with that of the staff and management of Our Three Sons Broadcasting in March of 2007. Originally the Co-Host / News Director of The WRHI Morning Show, he took over the hosting reigns and is now an integral part of the fabric of Rock Hill and York County.
Numerous recognitions and awards have been bestowed upon Jay by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association including:
- The Award of Merit for Radio Show of the Year
- 9-Star Awards for promotional, public service and business ad campaigns
- The Award of Merit for his work on WRHI and WRHM's Prom Pledge campaign
Jay and his wife, Amy live in Old Town Rock Hill with their 6 children: Griffin, Kassidy, Sophie, Mark, Sean and Kara.
