Mike Crowder is delighted to be back in Rock Hill as the voice behind the morning and midday news on WRHI and Interstate 107. Mike first joined the OTS Staff in March 2003 before leaving in 2007 to return to Kentucky. Mike returned to OTS in August 2011.
A 16-year broadcasting veteran with news experience in radio and television as an anchor, reporter, news director and producer, Mike has worked at radio stations in Rome, Ga. and Columbia, S.C., and for the South Carolina News Network in Columbia. Mike also worked as a producer at two Columbia television stations.
During his time with the SC News Network, Mike was the primary correspondent responsible for covering the state legislature, the governor’s office and statewide politics.
Born in Montgomery, Ala., Mike spent many of his formative years in Ohio and Tennessee. Mike earned his bachelors degree in mass communications with a broadcast journalism emphasis from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
He also earned a paralegal certificate from South University in Columbia, SC.
Mike has been awarded with multiple honors during his career including the South Carolina Statewide Newscaster of the Year in 2007 and 2013.
His hobbies are watching sports, listening to music, traveling, playing softball and meeting new people.
