Mario Washington

Mario Washington is the Program Director for Our Three Sons Broadcasting. He’s been with the company since 2001 starting out as a member of the special events team. He then began studio engineering for football and basketball games, and other live broadcasts.

Washington was hired as a full time Operations Assistant in 2003 after graduating from Winthrop University in December of 2002. Washington also does selected play-by-play duties  for area high school football and basketball broadcasts.

Under Washington’s watch, the station group has won several awards including the 2008 South Carolina Broadcasters Association’s coveted Radio Station of the Year for WRHI. He was also awarded the SCBA’s Sportscaster of the Year Award of Merit in 2008. Mario brings you sports every weekday morning on Palmetto Mornings.

Washington first fostered his love of Radio as a disc jockey at Winthrop University’s WINR in 1998, where he also won awards for his hip-hop show and as a columnist for the Roddey McMillan Record, Winthrop’s multicultural newspaper.
