Andrew Kiel joined OTS Media Group on a full-time basis in 2009 and is the afternoon news anchor/reporter for WRHI and Interstate 107 and 104.1 The Bridge. In his time with the company, he’s also been the co-host of Palmetto Mornings and has previously been the morning news anchor for the Rock Hill-based company’s family of stations.
Kiel moved to afternoons in October 2011 and in addition to his work in the news department, handles company’s web presences, Engineering and Information Technology needs and long term plannning.
Kiel is the fill-in host for WRHI’s daily noon talk show, Straight Talk.
Andrew started in the radio business in 2005 as a teenager hosting an overnight show on “Oldies 102.5” WXLY-FM in Charleston, S.C.
A native of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Kiel is a graduate of Winthrop University with degree in Integrated Marketing Communication.
While at Winthrop, Andrew managed the student radio station for several years, at the same time working part-time for the OTS Media Group.
Andrew was the 2014 and 2015 recipient of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Radio Reporter of the Year award and has also been awarded OTS Media Group’s Most Important Key Employee (M.I.K.E) Award for his outstanding service to the company.
Andrew is 2012 graduate of the York County Regional Chamber’s Leadership York County program and is a member of the Leadership York County Planning Council. Kiel serves as chairman of the York County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors and secretary/treasurer of the housing corporation of Winthrop University’s chapter of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity.
