Andrew Kiel joined OTS Media on a full-time basis in 2009 and is the afternoon news anchor/reporter for WRHI and Interstate 107. In his time with the company, he’s also been the co-host of Palmetto Mornings and has previously been the morning news anchor for both stations.
Kiel moved to afternoons in October 2011 and in addition to his work in the newsroom, handles company’s web presences, IT needs and web design services.
Kiel is the fill-in host for WRHI’s daily noon talk show, Straight Talk.
Andrew’s previous work in the radio business includes on air work at Clear Channel’s WXLY-FM, WXLY-FM, WALC-FM and WRFQ-FM in Charleston.
A native of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Kiel is a graduate of Winthrop University with degree in Integrated Marketing Communication.
While at Winthrop, Andrew managed the student radio station for several years, at the same time working part-time for OTS Media.
Andrew is a 2010 and 2012 recipient of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Award of Merit for Excellence in News Reporting. He was also awarded OTS Media’s Most Important Key Employee award for his outstanding service to the company.
Andrew is 2012 graduate of the York County Regional Chamber’s Leadership York County program and is a member of the Leadership York County Planning Council. Kiel serves on the York County Crime Stoppers Board of Directors, is an alumni adviser to Winthrop University’s chapter of Pi Kappa Phi and serves as an industry representative on Winthrop’s Student Electronic Media Board.
In his spare time, you’ll find him exploring the back roads of South Carolina (likely with his dog Maggie in tow), making good use of the pool with his friends, and visiting one new restaurant each week. Andrew attends Elevation Church in Rock Hill.
