WRHI is one of the nation’s pioneers in Radio broadcasting, leading the way with local innovative promotions, unique community based programming and cutting-edge technology. In the 1990s, WRHI became one of the earliest to stream Radio on the internet and in 2007 revolutionized AM radio as the first station in America to broadcast on an FMtranslator. Now in our 67th year in business, WRHI has become more relevant than ever.
Over the past decade, WRHI has expanded listener coverage and community service throughout the Tri-county area and is recognized as South Carolina’s most honored Radio station with over 60 State Broadcasting Awards (SCBA). Affiliated with the world’s largest Radio networks, Fox & ABC, and statewide South Carolina Radio Network, WRHI’s local news department routinely covers news conferences, school board, city and county council meetings, and is always talking with newsmakers. In recent years our broadcasting peers in the TV and Radio News Directors Association of the Carolinas have selected WRHI’s news and weather team as the “Best in the Carolinas”. WRHI received an unprecedented 8 out of 10 awards from the Association.
