York County Councilman William ‘Bump’ Roddey announced on Monday that he will be exploring whether he should make another run to become the Mayor of Rock Hill. Roddey is assembling a team who will work alongside him over the next 3 months to make a decision.
The team will be charged with taking the pulse of Rock Hill citizens and stakeholders listening to their concerns so that they can formulate what a possible candidacy would or should look like to best represent the people.
The team will be headed by Roddey’s campaign manager of 10 years Gwendolyn Finley. Roddey said he has not made a decision at this time.
Roddey is currently in his 5th term representing District 4 in York County. Roddey lost to current Rock Hill Mayor, John Gettys in 2017, with Gettys receiving 52 percent of the vote to Roddey’s 48 percent.
