Duke Energy moving water through Catawba River Basin preparing for rains from Hurricane Sally

Hurricane Sally is expected to dump rain throughout both Carolinas this week. The rain will raise the lake levels in the Catawba River Basin. Duke Energy is aggressively moving water through the system to lower the lake levels for the storm. Lake residents should prepare for possible flooding conditions and closely monitor lake levels.

Expected Hurricane Winds are also postponing an SC Catawba Works job fair that was scheduled for tomorrow evening at the Kenneth Monroe Transformation Center. The agency includes York, Lancaster and Chester counties. The event is expected to be rescheduled.
