York County had its highest single day increase in coronavirus cases, Friday afternoon. SC-DHEC announced 104 new cases in the County, part of the 1,558 total cases reported.
Lancaster County had 13 new cases and Chester County had 14. 7,514 people were tested for the virus on Thursday and 20.7% tested positive.
The recovery rate for COVID-19 has risen to 85%. That means of the 41,413 people who have had the coronavirus since the pandemic began, there are 6,094 active cases, 34,532 people have recovered and 787 people have died. The SC death rate is 1.9%.
10 additional deaths were also reported by SC-DHEC. 6 were in elderly individuals, 2 were in middle-aged individuals and 2 were in young adult individuals.
1,148 hospital beds are currently occupied by patients who have or are under investigation for COVID-19.
