South Carolina is approaching 10,000 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 after 245 new cases were announced by SC-DHEC Friday afternoon. The new cases included 3 in York County, 4 in Lancaster County and 3 in Chester County. York County has 329 cases, Lancaster County has 120 and Chester County has 44.
The recovery rate for the coronavirus remains at 85%, according to SC-DHEC estimates. That means that the number of active cases are just under 1,400 and over 8,000 people have recovered from COVID-19.
SC-DHEC is also reporting 3 additional deaths, which occurred in elderly individuals from Spartanburg (2) and Jasper (1) Counties. The state’s death total is now 419.
