Winthrop University moves up in 2020 edition of ‘Best Colleges’ by U.S. News and World Report

Winthrop University has been moved from 25th to 17th among regional universities in the South, according to the US News rankings, released on September 9th.

The award recognized the University  for its strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, its attention to veterans, the social mobility of its graduates, and as an innovative school, according to the U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 edition of “Best Colleges.”

This is Winthrop’s best overall ranking in a quarter of a century and according to President Dan Mahony affirms the University’s commitment to educating students in a well-rounded student centered culture.

In addition to the 17th best place for Southern public and private institutions Winthrop is ranked 8th among public universities, rose from 17th to 8th among best colleges for veterans and tied for 10th place among the most innovative schools.
