The suspect is 16 years of age and legally a juvenile in the State of South Carolina. But in this case, his charges are serious enough for him to be charged as an adult.

The suspect is Terry Shaimek Tyler of Rock Hill. Tyler is being charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree; Armed Robbery; Kidnapping; Grand Larceny Auto; Possession of a Pistol by a person under 18; and Possession of a Firearm during a Crime of Violence.

The suspect was driving the stolen car when RHPD Patrol Units stopped it with the help of the York County Sheriff’s Office Deputies at around 11:30 AM on India Hook Road.

There were 5 other minors in the car with him who had no involvement in the crime. They were all released to their families with no charges.
