York County Sheriff Office Deputies attempted to stop a car on Hwy 21 in Fort Mill. The driver of the car drove off the road and crashed into a tree at Springfield Elementary School. The Fort Mill School District was notified and the school was placed on a preventative lock down by school administrators, which was lifted a short time later. The 28-year-old driver Diamond Barrett was taken to the hospital for medical treatment. She will be charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under Suspension, Open Container in a Vehicle and Failure to Stop for Blue Lights.
