AUDIO: Winthrop Psychology professor on school safety

Following the tragic events in Parkland Florida earlier this year schools around the country and in Rock Hill have begun the discussion on how to make their schools safer.

Winthrop Psychology professor Melissa Reeves understands how to mentally help students move forward from experiencing such an event.  She said supporting students in the aftermath of a crisis may not prevent a traumatic impact, but could mitigate it.

Reeves said not allowing students to process a traumatic event is what leads to negative life outcomes.
