GiTi Tire executive speaks to I-77 Alliance during economic development summit
The I-77 Alliance Wednesday held its annual economic development summit at the Gateway Conference Center.
Hank Eisenga, the vice president of manufacturing for GiTi Tire, says one of his company’s major priorities is workforce development.
“Having had the opportunity to first hand meet many of the people in the area, in our opinion, this area — York County, Chester County and surrounding counties — has a very strong workforce.”
GiTi Tire is investing $568 million in its Richburg facility and plans to hire a total of 1700 workers.
Production is targeted to begin next May.
The I-77 Alliance includes Chester, York, Fairfield and Richland Counties.
