Greg Grunberg, who appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Heroes Reborn in late 2015, is best known for his role as Matt Parkman, the mind-reading police officer on the television series Heroes. In real life, Grunberg is a hero and advocate of a different kind — serving as an advocate for people with epilepsy all over the country, including his oldest son, Jake, who was diagnosed at seven years old. Grunberg’s passion to help those living with epilepsy led him to create The Talk About It! Foundation in 2010, where celebrities, medical professionals, and others discuss a variety of topics ranging from medication to misconceptions about epilepsy and seizure disorders. In 2015, The Talk About It! Foundation and the Epilepsy Foundation joined together to create a new sweeping national initiative to help raise public awareness about epilepsy and seizures. Grunberg has worked to raise awareness in Southern California for many years, serving on the Board of UCLA’s Pediatric Epilepsy Project and participating in fundraising and awareness events for the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.
