Carson brings outsider GOP presidential campaign to Rock Hill
Retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson brought his Republican presidential campaign to Rock Hill Saturday.
Carson signed hundreds of copies of his new book A More Perfect Union.
He says issues involving the Second Amendment are extremely important to him, even when it comes to the recent rash of school shootings.
“Daniel Webster said America would never experience tyranny because the people are armed,” Carson said.
“So I don’t want to compromise the Second Amendment,” he added, “but I certainly believe intelligent people should be thinking about preventing these kinds of things from occurring.”
Carson says some of his comments have only been controversial to the mainstream media, and not to most voters.
He says his record of accomplishments as a neurosurgeon shows that he can get things done.
