Three Strawberry Festival beauty queens were crowned Saturday night before a capacity crowd at the Nation Ford High School auditorium.
Patti Mercer, who founded and directs the pageant, says it allows young women to serve a cause greater than themselves by having platforms.
“Next year our pageant platform is going to be multiple sclerosis awareness,” Mercer says, “because there are so many women who are affected by this disease and there’s no cure.”
Mercer says the platform allows the contestants to reach the community with a relevant message.
Saturday nights winners were Teen Queen Casey Hillman, Miss Queen Carley Becknell and Mrs. Queen Michelle Cherikos.
