Rock Hill’s 3D Systems announced today it has signed a lease on a new 200,000 square foot facility that will increase its manufacturing and distribution capacity to meet growing demand for its printers and materials.
The company says the addition is part of its previously announced expansion, which is expected to generate hundreds of new jobs over time.
3D Systems president and CEO Avi Reichental says the continued Rock Hill expansion underscores the company’s commitment to localized manufacturing.
Reichental says the action demonstrates that 3D Systems can build locally what it designs locally.
The new facility is expected to be fully operational by the first quarter of next year.
