A York County teenager has earned a commendation from York County Sheriff Bruce Bryant following a home invasion earlier this year.
On March 28th, Luke Dowdle, 17, was home alone when someone broke into his home near the town of Sharon.
It was only after the suspect was inside did he realize he wasn’t alone and fled the teen’s home.
As the suspect fled the scene, Dowdle snapped a photograph of his truck, giving detectives a leg up in finding the suspect.
That information ultimately led investigators to Bryant Bolin, who has since been arrested for first degree burglary.
“Luke showed courage and foresight during the ordeal,” said Sheriff Bryant. “He had presence of mind to take a cellphone photograph of the suspect vehicle as it was leaving; something few people would have thought to do under such stressful circumstances.”
Sheriff Bryant went on to say Dowdle’s actions go beyond what is expected from anybody to assist the Sheriff’s Office.
