Town of Fort Mill councilman Nathan Blythe submitted his resignation from council Tuesday.
In a statement from town spokeswoman Kimberly Starnes, Blythe’s resignation is effective July 8 and is due to his moving outside of town limits
“It has been a privilege to serve on Town Council. Thanks to everyone associated with the Town for their hard work and assistance over my time on Council,” said Blythe.
The filing period for the vacant seat opens on the third Friday following the vacancy. Voting takes place the 13th Tuesday after the vacancy. The Fort Mill Town Council consists of six elected members. One member is elected to represent each of the town’s four wards, and two additional members are elected at-large.
Council members serve staggered four-year terms, and municipal elections are held in November of odd-numbered years.
